The problem
A field-service scheduling platform had to work where mobile signal comes and goes. The old web app crashed or discarded customer submissions when the connection dropped, which cost bookings and brought bad reviews.
What I did
I built an offline-first mobile app and progressive web app with React Native, TypeScript, and on-device SQLite storage. Changes sync in the background and merge without conflicts once the phone is back online. Face ID and fingerprint sign-in keep credentials in the device's secure enclave, and data is encrypted end to end.
The result
The app reached more than 120,000 active users with a 4.8-star rating. Field teams captured every booking with no data lost in rural dead zones, and dispatch support tickets fell 82%.
